 Needless repair can do more harm than good. Too many firearms are reduced in value by well-meaning gun owners who were unable to determine that their guns really did not need the extensive work undertaken. At Sierra Gun Works, we will never suggest a repair that is not absolutely needed nor will we needlessly disassembly any firearm further than we must to accomplish our goal. Safety is the number one priority and all firearms brought to us are inspected for safe operation. While routine maintinence can usually be done by the average firearm owner, a great number of people are simply too busy for this undertaking or lack the required tools and equipment. Repairs of firearms are best undertaken by a qualified gunsmith and in fact, some repairs are best left to trained personnel at the factory of the firearms origin due to the amount of specialized tools and custom jigs needed. Because nothing can make a job go sour quicker than improvising when a special tool or part is not available, we at Sierra Gun Works will never undertake a repair beyond our capabilities.
Takedown and Cleaning Cleanings, are done at an hourly rate because firearms vary so much in their complexity. There is no hourly minimum so you are only charged for actual time spent.
Lightening Trigger Pull Known as a " Trigger Job " the process of improving trigger pull and sear engagement is a fine art. A complete teardown is usually required to access the involved parts. The parts are matched on a custom jig under magnification and adjusted to acheive perfect angular mating, then the parts are polished for smooth operation.
 Grips and Stocks Grips are a great way to customize a firearm. Wood, Plastic or Rubber, we can give you the fit you want.
Accessorize! Accessories are a great way to really personalize a firearm, we can obtain and install almost anything you can think of. From barrel shrouds and flashlights, to lasers, stocks and bipods. Give us a call and together we can assemble the parts to make your firearm YOURS!
 Sights and Optics We can install new sights and mount scopes too. We utilize Leupold boresighting equipment to get everything lined up, then finish off the install with a chamber or muzzle mounted laser to get as close to zero as possible, up to 100 yards out. This means less time at the range for you and less ammunition to achieve a final zero.
Custom Color Inlays Using a proven process of heated polymer/parafin, we can inlay virtually any color you want into the engraved areas of your firearms, Rifle or pistol.
Muzzle Crowning Nicks and any damage to the muzzle of a firearm, can greatly influence the bullet as it leaves the barrel and reduce accuracy. The machined recess at the muzzle is called a crown, and is a relatively simple process with dramatic results.
 Parts Polishing The Polishing of certain parts ensure smooth functioning and added reliability. As with this 1911 barrel, it can also be an asthetic enhancement. The feedramp on semi automatic pistols is a common problem with a factory finish. While the feeding of round nose bullets is usually fine, the use of hollow points and flat nosed bullets often lead to mis-feeds and jams. This can be greatly reduced by Polishing the feed ramp, a simple and inexpensive modification that gives awesome results.
 Bluing We offer hot tank bluing in three grades - polished, field and matte. The condition of the parts dictates the grade that can be achieved, therefore an inspection of the parts is required before an accurate quote can be given.
